Three days at Sea You Festival, cut and delivered on site
We led the production for Sea You Festival 2026 at the Tunisee near Freiburg. More than 70 finished cuts, most of them delivered while the festival was still running.
Sea You Festival returned to the Tunisee near Freiburg from 17 to 19 July, and Black Forest Studios was on site for all three days as lead production partner.
The brief was not one film. It was a rolling content operation: shot, cut and delivered while the festival was still running.
Delivered before the gates opened
We started a day early. On Thursday, before the first guest arrived, the team shot and delivered preview trailers of the empty grounds for the festival's own channels. That footage only exists in the few hours before a site fills up.
From Friday to Sunday the pattern repeated: shoot through the day, cut in the evening, deliver the same night. The daily recaps went live while the festival was still going. Around them came location stories, first impressions, emotion films and a closing thank-you piece, vertical for social and 16:9 for the bigger placements.
By Sunday night the count stood at more than 70 finished cuts.
The setup
Black Forest Studios led the production, with HIGHVE Studios on camera and dedicated drone and behind-the-scenes coverage running alongside the main unit.
A partnership that keeps coming back
Sea You is not a one-off. We first worked with the festival in 2024, and the current agreement runs into 2027. Formats that land one year get sharpened the next, and the team arrives already knowing the site, the timetable and the rhythm of the weekend.
That is the part people underestimate about festival work. The shot list is written by the running order, not by a script. Doors, stage times and golden hour decide the day, and everything has to be finished before the next one starts.
