Europe has a new screen: the official Snäxx launch press release

On November 1, 2026, Snäxx goes live simultaneously on iOS and Android — the first European premium streaming platform dedicated to microdrama. It's built and backed by us, and we're publishing the full launch press release here.

One story. Two screens.

At the heart of Snäxx is a Dual Format strategy: content lives vertically on mobile and simultaneously exists in a cinematic 16:9 version for television, streaming platforms and other distribution channels. Create once, reach audiences everywhere.

Powered by Black Forest Studios

Behind Snäxx stands Black Forest Studios, developing and producing original premium microdrama series from Freiburg and Munich, from development through production and post-production to delivery. As Sebastian Weiland, CEO of Black Forest Studios and Co-Founder of Snäxx, put it:

"Europe has extraordinary writers, producers, actors, studios and IP. What has been missing is a platform built specifically to turn that creative strength into premium mobile entertainment."

RE:FORMAT: a second life for existing content

Broadcasters, studios and producers across Europe are sitting on thousands of hours of valuable film, series and TV content built for another generation of screens. Our RE:FORMAT workflow turns selected existing content into new vertical, episodic experiences — not simply cropped, but re-authored, re-edited and re-formatted, with storylines rebuilt for mobile viewing.

The open invitation

Snäxx launches with an ambition beyond its own originals: we want Europe's best stories on Snäxx. The platform is open to producers, studios, distributors, broadcasters and rights holders bringing original productions, co-productions, licensed series, existing vertical content, and archive titles ready for RE:FORMAT.
